Everyone knew how much Calum loved his tattoos. So it was no surprise when it was time for him to get another one. He had been thinking extra hard about what he decided to get. He is already at the phrase "Choose life," near his collarbone just at the top of his chest.

He wanted to make an addition to his tiny collection, but he didn't know what. That's why he was in the tattoo shop, aimlessly walking around the store looking at different sketches and drawings posted on the wall. Usually, he had his regular tattoo artist, but this time he wanted someone different.

The shop was small and quaint, Calum felt huge just standing by himself in the store. he was flipping through a small book filled with amazing artwork when he heard the back door open. He looked up to see a girl, probably the same age as him, enter through the back door, carrying a couple's supplies in her hands.

She placed them down on the small tattoo table she had set up, glancing up at Calum who was slightly staring back at her.

"Hey,"

"Hey."

"Are you Calum?" she questioned, pointing a finger in his direction. The last thing she expected was the famous bassist from a pop band walks into her tattoo shop, but after all, it was California. He nodded reaching out his hand towards her; she smiled and shook his hand in return.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Y/N, your music is pretty good," She smiled, making Calum laugh. He mumbled small gratitude of thanks before looking down at his hand, holding the book out.

"Did you draw most of these? They're really good," he complimented. The girl blushed in return, turning her back towards Calum to focus on setting up her station.

"You know, I normally don't do walk-ins, but it's been a slow day, so what are you thinking about getting?" She called out, waiting for an answer. She turned around to face him again, just as he was removing his shirt.

Damn, he was hot.

She tried not to stare too hard as he explained the previous tattoo that he got, just across the collarbone.

"I want something below my chest, but I don't know what yet. I thought coming here would give me some sort of inspiration," he shrugged.

She nodded slowly, walking closer towards him. Calum did have a severe height advantage over her, but he nervously tensed up as she approached him, eyeing the tattoo on his chest.

"Choose life," she mumbled, turning her head in thought. She smiled in realization, a small smirk playing on her lips.

"Maybe you should finish that quote. 'But why would I want to do a thing like that," she finished, nodding her head in understanding.

"Trainspotting. Great movie," she said simply while watching a smile grow on his face. She walked away from him, sitting down on a chair. He followed her, laying down beside her on the tattoo bed, looking up at her.

"Give me one second I'll be right back," she smiled, walking away from Calum and disappeared into the back room. He waited for a brief moment until Y/N returned, holding a list of supplies in her hand.

She sat down in the chair next to him, black gloves covering her delicate hands. Calum took notice of how she examined his previous tattoo.

"Do you know what font was used? Or did your guy freehand it?" She asked, not removing her eyes from Calum's chest.

"San Francisco."

Y/N nodded, whisking away from him in her rolling chair, and sat in front of the computer. Opening a quick document and looking for the font. She typed out the message that would be tattooed across Calum's chest and printed it out.

After Y/N prepped his chest, Calum observed as she applied the outline to his body, gaining his approval on the location of his tattoo. Once it was placed, she began to sterilize all of the tools, granting Calum the opportunity to drum up a conversation.

"So how long have you been doing this for?"

"About four years."

"Four years?" he asked incredulously, taking a look at her appearance. She looks young, around the same age as himself.

"Yeah, I started when I was twenty," she replied, cleaning the last bit of her tools. She began to work, placing a hand on Calum's pectoral muscle and gently pressed the needle into his skin.

Calum hissed lowly, releasing a breath. He noticed how focused Y/N was at her job. The way her eyes focused on the small area of his chest she was tattooing. He had to admit that she was really pretty, and the close distance made him feel anxious.

The rest of the appointment was pretty tame. Y/N brought up a couple of topics and Calum got a chance to get to know her outside of her job. They talked about a range of topics, starting from the weirdest things Y/N's ever tattooed to the behind-the-scenes life of a music artist.

Soon enough, Y/N was done. She placed the last finishing touches on his new ink and ushered him to stand up and glance in the mirror.

The spot around the ink war a little red, but that didn't distract the insane work that Y/N did.

"It looks amazing!" he praised, still examining the spot in the mirror. Y/N smiled and removed her gloves and threw them in the bin. She helped Calum bandage up his new artwork just after placing a thin layer of petroleum jelly on his chest.

"I can't thank you enough, Y/N. It looks great," he thanked her once again, making her wave off her hand.

"It's no problem. I had fun. You are my favorite client all week," she laughed, nervously holding her hands at her side.

"Maybe we could hang out sometime when you're free? Like a date?" Calum asked nervously, trailing off the last few words in his sentence.

Y/N's heart practically skipped a beat and she had to mentally tell herself to calm down. She nodded and smiled brightly, pulling out her phone.

"Yeah. I'd like that a lot," she spoke, the corners of her mouth turning up in a smile.

"Great! I'll text you, yeah?" He grinned, handing her phone back after placing his contact information in. She nodded and waved him off into the night.

Once Calum was out of sight, she grinned wildly. She liked Calum and definitely wanted to get to know him a little bit better.
