Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) put her Christianity at the center of her politics even more than usual when she compared Donald Trump to Jesus Christ because, she said, they’re both convicted felons. But Trump apparently didn’t get the message, following her speech at the same rally by saying that he doesn’t care if his supporters are passing out from the heat, he just wants their votes.

Greene and Trump were in Las Vegas at Sunset Park for a Trump campaign rally on Sunday. Trump was convicted on 34 counts last month related to his scheme to influence the 2016 presidential election by paying off adult actress Stormy Daniels to keep her quiet about their affair and then fraudulently recording the hush money payment, and Greene has been a vocal critic of that conviction.

She called Johnson “useless” for not shutting down the government in response to Donald Trump’s conviction.

The Democrats and the fake news media want to talk about ‘Trump is a convicted felon,’” she said at Sunday’s rally. “You want to know something? The man that I worship is also a convicted felon. And he was murdered on a Roman cross.”

The rally was held outdoors in over 100-degree weather, and two dozen supporters needed to be treated for medical issues related to the heat. Six went to the hospital, according to the AP.

But Trump apparently didn’t get the memo that he is supposed to be Christ-like. He told people at the rally that his campaign would offer help to people who needed it, but not because he actually cared about people.

“Do you feel the breeze? I don’t want anybody going on me. We need every voter,” he said. “I don’t care about you. I just want your vote. I don’t care.”

He then may have realized that admitting he doesn’t care about his supporters is a bit gauche, so he preemptively lashed out at the media: “See now the press will take that and they’ll say, ‘He said a horrible thing.'”

Earlier in his speech, he complained that rally organizers were more worried about the crowd’s safety than his.

“Everybody was so worried yesterday about you, and they never mentioned me,” he whined. “I’m up here sweating like a dog.”

“Secret Service said we have to make sure everyone’s safe, I say, what about me?”

“They don’t think about me! I’m working my a** off, I’m working hard.”

Trump later said that he was joking.

On X, people reacted to both Greene’s and Trump’s statements.

“Ted Bundy, Charles Manson, and Jeffrey Dahmer were all convicted felons, which makes them just like Jesus, y’all!!!!”
