The Ducks remain among this year's national title favorites.

Earlier this week ESPN updated its top 25 rankings following the conclusion of spring football across the country.Oregon came in at No. 4 in Mark Schlabach's latestthe rankings, which werereleased earlier this week.

Placement among the nation's very best has remained consistent all offseason for the Ducks, which also hold the fourth best betting odds by most sports books.

"In just two seasons as a head coach, Oregon's Dan Lanning has established himself as one of the best in the FBS," Schlabach wrote of Oregon's 2024 team. "His teams have a 22-5 record and back-to-back bowl victories. With the Ducks moving to the Big Ten, Lanning's blueprint for building a physical team on both sides of the ball should help ease the transition. Former Oklahoma quarterback Dillon Gabrieltakes over for departed starBo Nix. Texas A&M transferEvan Stewartmight form a potent one-two punch withTez Johnsonat receiver.Jordan Jamesis back after running for 759 yards with 11 touchdowns in 2023. SafetyKobe Savage(Kansas State) and cornerbackJabbar Muhammad(Washington) were nice additions to a pass defense that led the Pac-12 last season, allowing 215.9 yards per game. Oregon plays a home contest against Ohio State on Oct. 12, but its November schedule will determine if it's going to be a season to remember -- Michigan (road), Maryland (home), Wisconsin (road) and Washington (home)."

The Ducks are second only to Ohio State among Big 10 schools in the updated rankings. Only Michigan (10th), Penn State (12th), Iowa (23rd) and USC (25th) join the Buckeyes and Ducks inside the top 25.

Two other Big 10 schools are on the cusp, per Schlabach, who has Wisconsin and Washington in the "just missed" section. Boise State, who the Ducks host in non-league play in September, is also among that group.

Georgia sits atop thetop 25 followed by the Buckeyes, Texas and the Ducks. Notre Dame rounds out the top five.
